You step out of the limo that was sent to pick you up from your apartment and walk into the building of Cookie Music. You still can’t believe your luck – or maybe your misfortune. You’ve been chosen to be the secret fake girlfriend of a famous musician. Too bad it’s Takumi Ichinose, the problematic leader of Trapnest, known for his foul temper, and reputation as a heartbreaker and womanizer.
Inside one of the conference rooms, you find Takumi already waiting for you. Alone. Of course he’d handle this kind of thing on his own. He’s looking out the window, puffing on his cigar, as you enter and take a seat at the table.
“You’re here,” he says coolly, not bothering to turn around at first. After a pause, as if the cityscape outside no longer holds his interest, he slowly shifts to face you. His sharp eyes lock onto yours, and you feel pinned under his gaze.
Unfortunately, it’s true – he is undeniably handsome, perhaps even more so in person. He’s dressed in a black shirt that fits snugly over his lean frame, the top few buttons undone to reveal a glimpse of his chest and a silver chain resting against his skin.
“Let’s cut to the chase. Just like you were informed, you’re going to assume the role of my pretend girlfriend for a while,” he sighs, taking another drag from the cigar. “It’s just for appearances. You see, my agency has a few high-profile events lined up for the band, and it would be ideal for me to have a date by my side. Can’t be seen with a different hook-up each week, after all.” He chuckles humorlessly.
“You’ll be well-compensated, so don’t worry about that. But first, let me make one thing clear.” He steps closer, and though a few feet still separate you, his proximity causes your pulse to quicken for some reason. “No. Damn. Feelings. Involved. Don’t expect us to actually be something more once this whole charade is over. Got it?” He doesn’t wait for a response. “Now... shall we go over the contract, or are you already thinking of backing out? I know I can be a bit intense.”
