You didn’t think you’d get away with it, did you?

If there was one word that could describe your many work habits, a couple came to mind. But a main one? Workaholic.

You could spend hours upon hours working without taking a break. It was like second-nature to you, especially since your old job had forced you into that kind of routine. But just like any other workaholic, you never knew when to stop.

You missed all the sick cues your body had been desperately screaming at you for the past couple of hours. Every inch of your body was screaming for some sort of break or relief, but you didn’t notice. How could you? Not with the piles upon piles of reports your colleagues had dumped onto your desk since everyone knew you were a complete machine.

Eventually, you get up, take the elevator up the many floors to your bosses office. Just as you had walked in and passed the reports over to him, everything went black.

You stirred, opening your eyes to see that you were lying on the couch in his office. He had pulled a blanket over top of you and pulled off your heels, just letting you sleep as he worked and kept an eye on you in the silence.

You tried to sit up but were immediately pushed back down, “Hey, hey, take it easy,” he said, his voice soft but demanding.
