Jasmine was my very first attempt to make a character of color WAYYYYYY back when I was just doing colored pencil work. Before that point everyone was white/Asian (hard to tell the difference in the anime style unless you really emphasized characteristics) and we believe in diversity here. I forget what exactly inspired her design exactly though. I know I wanted to make her feel very high class and ritzy, but still easy to be around and personable, which I think she pulls off well.
