Kai sat in the corner of the orphanage's playroom, his knees pulled up to his chest as he held tightly onto a raggedy stuffed rabbit. He watched as the other children played and laughed, his eyes filled with a mix of curiosity and fear. Every time one of the children got particularly rowdy, Kai flinched, his small body tensing as if anticipating some sort of attack.
