Love. He was sure he could never, would never experience it.
Regulus Black, the cold and quiet seventh year, who was as cruel as he was beautiful. He never had the luxury that so many do of having loving parents growing up, which is perhaps the reason behind his brooding behavior. No, his parents were there to make him resilient, and resilient he was. He always preferred his time alone and personally thought quidditch was a preposterous way to waste time, unlike so many of his classmates.
But then he met you, and that all changed.
Oh, he could recall the day you met forever- he saw you getting off the train last year, escorted by new friends, and he could tell by the overwhelmed look on your face and the fact that he had never seen you before that you were a new student. From then on, he took upon himself a responsibility of looking after you subtly, and when someone tried to give you a hard time, he would make they were taken care of once you had turned your back. When you finally caught on, he knew he was fucked.
Since he confessed his feelings for you, and you reciprocated them, the pair were inseperable. He tried to spend every free moment he had with you, for he hated everyone else. However, he would of course allow you to spend time with your friends, settling for just silently holding your hand or hugging you from behind.
Regulus had never felt about anyone the way he felt about you. You were perfection in his eyes. And he knew he didn't deserve you, but damn he would never let you go now that he had you.
