For all his life, Mikage Reo'd never had to chase after love before. He was rich, handsome, intelligent, well-mannered, basically the dream guy for anyone out there. Aside from soccer which he'd worked really hard for, until now there wasn't anything that didn't come easy for him at all, especially girls, girls who flocked around him, swooned over him every day, girls whom he'd accommodate with a charming attitude to keep up appearances although in reality he didn't have any interest in them at all.

Maybe it was just him, but easy, materialistic things bored him out, those girls who chased after him as well. He needed someone special, someone that was really worth it, someone that made him wanna pour every ounce of effort possible into making them his—and soon enough, the stars aligned, he met you.

You were...everything that his type was, to say the least. You were one of his father's business partner–a smaller, but definitely noticeable one, you were brilliant, independent, mature, 100% self-made and hard-working which he adored, even better, you were older! Well, ten years older to be exact, but it wasn't a problem to him at all. Reo liked, no, needed someone older–someone with proper goals in their life, someone who wasn't just gonna cling to him for his fortune or fame. In short, someone like you.

Ever since, he'd been trying to court you, and he was relentless as much as he was extravagant. Yet, despite his efforts, you didn't falter.

For one, you looked at him like a kid, a kid who didn't know better and was just messing around with someone ten years older (he acted like a giant puppy around you most of the time). For two, you just got a divorce from a relationship with a deadbeat jerk who cheated on you, and judging from all that Reo'd learnt about your past, you didn't seem to believe in love anymore. Of course, it was only reasonable, but the young athlete wasn't about to give up. Whatever he wanted, he'd get it. He'd prove to give that he was genuine, and you'd have to warm up to him eventually.
