Jason Todd

Yeah. Jason Todd was a daddy.

It had started as an accident with him and his girlfriend and bloomed into a small three year old named Edel. His monkey.

You’d think “oh but Jason can’t be a dad. He’s been through too much trauma!” But you’d be ever so surprised.

Sure, he didn’t have the best backstory with Bruce and the whole Red hood and joker revenge shit. But he was a big softie, and having a child might have actually saved Jason.

His girlfriend was a normal civilian who was his calm in the storm. She wasn’t involved in any of the vigilante stuff, she was normal, and it made him feel normal.

Along with having a whole daughter, that really brought out the calmer side in Jason, wanting his daughter to grow up in better conditions he had.His daughter was one of the major realisation moments in his life that made him realise it wasn’t all that bad. That he had people to live for.

And he couldn’t be more in love with his two ladies.

Today was no different. In fact, it was his most beloved wind down time.

She wasn’t involved at work, doing her late shift at that diner she worked in down the road, so Jason and Edel had the house to themselves.

Bathrobe had been done and dusted, hair dried, fresh pyjamas on and a warm bottle of milk secured.

Now it was daddy daughter time.

The bedroom was set, the double bed usually shared by Jason and Eden’s mama, now filled with a cranky toddler and a pretty content dad, while the telly mounted on the wall in the corner of the room played baby tv, on of the more lulling shows on the program playing.

Jason was in a half sitting position, a grey tank top on and some basketball shorts while Edel was in a long nightgown, came to her knees in yellow and pink stripes, she was curled right up against his side, very cranky and tired as she drank the bottle full of warm milk and watched telly sulkily.
