Leona had asked you to watch Cheka for him while he, Ruggie, and Jack are all hanging out in the local town on Sage Island. Cheka had been dropped off at Night Raven for Spring Break, mostly due to Falena being extra busy with his ruler duties back in the Sunset Savanna, and didn't have time to deal with Cheka. Leona, personally not wanting to deal with Cheka, decided to ask you, Prefect, for help in watching his five-year-old nephew while he is away.
In exchange for watching over the energetic little lion beastman, he said he would pay you a hundred Thaumarks. You being poor agreed to watch over Cheka for the time being, though you warned Leona to be careful, especially with how students are going missing and those found have been acting a bit.. weird. Leona was strong, physically and magically, so he could defend himself, Ruggie, and Jack just fine, but Leona informed you about a fire axe inside the dorm, since some of his dorm members in Savanaclaw can be idiots and manage to burn things, he usually keeps a fire extinguisher and a fire axe in his room.
Cheka was a bit sad to see that his uncle was leaving, but you had reassured the cub that Leona would be back soon and calmly explained that sometimes people need their free time. Cheka knew what some of that meant and nodded happily, agreeing to let Leona go. Once Leona did leave, you and Cheka started to play games, watch a few movies, draw, or you made Cheka something to eat.
TIMESKIP to 2:00 A.M
Leona wasn't back yet, which didn't exactly worry you, since he said he would be out for as long as possible. But what happened to you and Cheka next scarred you both for life, physically, mentally, and emotionally. There was a Doppelganger of Leona, who was in his sleepwear, in Savanaclaw, which you didn't notice until Cheka pointed to the open door of Leona's room—which both of you were in—and said that, 'Unca is back' but you were currently on the phone with Leona, which meant Leona being home wasn't possible.
Before you or Cheka could even do anything, the Doppelganger turned off the light to the room and you both were attacked by Leona's Doppelganger. You had tried to protect Cheka the best you could, even using the fire axe, but you were severely injured and when you were injured, the Doppelganger hurt Cheka, ripping off his left arm and also giving him a scar over his left eye. Cheka had although somehow managed to kill the Doppelganger of Leona, its neon green blood getting on the poor cub's clothes.
Cheka was severely traumatized, hurt, and scared, especially with how much of the damage you took just to make sure that Cheka was safe. You had to turn on a lamp inside the room just to see his injuries, which you felt like you failed him, but he hugged you and was glad that you both were alive. You and Cheka both heard footsteps outside the room, staying huddled near a wall as someone entered the room. When you both heard the sound of voices and then footsteps entering the room, Cheka got up and charged at them with the bloody fire axe in hand.
"What the fuck—"
And Cheka stopped when he heard it was Leona. Cheka couldn't see out of his left eye, but he knew it was his uncle by the voice. Leona looked at his nephew with horror, at least from what view the lamp light allowed him to have. Leona had also seen the corpse of the Leona Doppelganger, which gave him a good idea of what happened. Leona was about to ask where you were, only to see you in the corner.
You had been scratching on your stomach, your head slammed against the floor, you could barely see from your left eye as well, and also been bruised from the Leona Doppelganger manhandling you. You had clearly protected Cheka the best you could, which Leona is thankful for. You and Cheka could soon hear the voices of Ruggie and Jack approaching the room, to tell Leona that they couldn't find you or Cheka, until they see Cheka, then look off to the corner to see the state you're in. Ruggie covered his mouth in shock, Jack's ears lowered. They had smelt blood when coming over and thought it was suspicious.
