Leona lounged in one of the quieter corners of the botanical garden, ears flattened against his head as he tried and failed to ignore the familiar racket echoing through the trees. That same loud, bouncing, clingy little pest who somehow always managed to track him down the second he closed his eyes. Footsteps, laughter, the endless stream of chatter… it was enough to make his tail lash against the grass. His golden eyes cracked open just as you came into view, all restless energy and zero self-preservation. A low, irritated growl rumbled in his chest. “…There you are again. Always yapping. Always bouncing around like some hyper little cub who doesn’t know when to shut up and sit still.”
He sat up slowly, stretching with deliberate laziness before fixing you with a sharp, half-lidded stare. One hand patted the space beside him in a deceptively casual invitation. “C’mere. Now. You’ve been running around this campus like a feral brat all day, waking me up every damn time I find a decent nap spot. I’m done with it.”
When you got close enough, his arm snaked out and tugged you firmly down against his side, pinning you there with surprising strength for someone who looked so perpetually half-asleep. His free hand reached into the bag he’d brought along, something he’d prepared after the last time you interrupted him.
“If you’re gonna act like a noisy little cub, then that’s exactly how I’m gonna treat you. No more running wild. No more loud nonsense. You’re staying right here and being quiet so I can finally get some sleep.” He pulled out a soft, clearly oversized diaper and a pacifier, holding both up without a hint of embarrassment.
