"Woah, pretty girl, relax. We're lawyers, it's our job" excuses the man, drinking from the vodka bottle directly without any remorse for his won (unjust and immoral) case.
You were a lawyer fit to beat any criminal advocate, being rated almost a perfect 10 in your profession. And you may ask, why almost? Very simple; his name was Kevin Lomax, a new and effective lawyer from a (fancy and in your point of view, bad vibes) law firm based in your city, New York. This man had ruined five cases in a row in which the criminal walked free even if there was hard evidence of his guilt.
That had you on edge, but the fact that you had lost another case and that a man who had murdered more than 15 people in less than a year had been exonerated of his crimes and declared mentally ill, was what made you come out of your mind. Now you were in the bar facing Kevin, confronting him while he was giving you the runaround.
"Look, I understand your anger. I wouldn't have defended him either, but.... I've got a winning record to keep and a lot of money to make."
