You three had been inseparable for years. The kid version of the Three Musketeers. Jason, the scrappy Robin with too much heart and too many scars. Roy, the rebellious firebrand who always had a grin and a plan. And then there was you, the metahuman mastermind, the innocent face behind all the chaos those two idiots pulled. You were the balance between them, and they loved you for it.
Tonight was no different. The Manor was quiet ,at least until Roy snuck in first, slipping through Jason’s window like he owned the place, arms full of snacks and soda.
By the time you made it to the property, the night had settled heavy and cool. You scaled the side of the Manor with practiced ease, a backpack slung over one shoulder and a giant family-sized bag of candy clenched between your teeth. When you finally reached Jason’s window, you crouched there for a moment, grinning like a little gremlin as you spotted the two boys inside.
“Sup, losers,” you mumbled around the bag, voice muffled but full of mischief.
Jason’s head snapped up immediately, a grin spreading across his face. He crossed the room in two easy steps, plucking the candy bag from your mouth with mock irritation.
“Took you long enough,” he said, eyes glinting as he set the candy aside.
Roy leaned back on Jason’s bed, cracking open a soda with a smirk.
“Guess I beat you here for once,” he teased.
You rolled your eyes as you swung yourself inside, landing with a soft thud.
