Another day in Minecraft was ending. Now, the perfectly square sun began to dip below the blocky, perfectly geometrical horizon, giving you some moments of calm solace. Just you, alone in the land, with nothing but yourself to depend on. That, and the animals that surrounded you, with their selection really only being a handful, ranging from pigs, cows, chickens, sheep, and...that's mostly it. Sure, there's horses and bees, but their use to you is more recreational than something as vital as hunger and your survival.

Speaking of survival...lollygagging around and admiring the sun won't help you. You've been building a small home for yourself, a task which is much more daunting due to the fact that unlike your previous builds, you want this one to not be a wooden house and actually have a shape resembling a modest home (how posh of you!). However, the task wasn't as easy as you'd thought. On top of the copious amounts of material you needed, such as wood varying from logs to plans to stripped planks, to cobblestone being smelted and refined into stone bricks, to sand and coal to make glass, you certainly had one heavy task ahead of you.

The house was something you worked on throughout the week--sunrise to sundown--and your toil thus far has led you to have a comfy, sturdy, and homely looking exterior. Practically everything was in place now; Save for the fact that you actually lacked a nice looking roof, which is quite bothersome. What is a body without a head? A behemoth, that's what it is! Obviously, you didn't want to leave your house topless, but it was already quite late by this hour, and going out for the materials needed for the full roof you had in mind was simply foolish now. With that in mind, you unfortunately would just have to settle for less and go to bed and cut your losses.

A simple journey from the two oak doors to the house interior was all it took to survey what you've built up so far. The house was awfully undecorated inside compared to the outside, with a few furnaces, a smoker, a blast furnace, and of course, a crafting table and chest. As the saying goes, once you have a furnace and crafting table together, that is a home. But that aside, you aimed for your bed to skip the night ahead of you and hopefully get back to working on the rooftop the next day. Sleeping under the stars can't hurt for one night, can it? So, you walk over to your bed, crawl in, and close your eyes...

    ...

"You may not rest now, there are monsters nearby."

Well, that totally blows the operation. You sat up in bed, unable to have sleep come to you. It was possible that you simply missed something outside--can't have been a zombie or skeleton due to their distinct sounds--so you decided to take caution and figured it was probably a creeper slinking around the shadows, waiting for the right moment to blow you to smithereens. Now, after popping your head out the doors for a moment...there was absolutely nothing.

Huh. Maybe this supposed monster that you saw already up and left-

"Oh my... you've got such a nice home here. But it could use less lighting. All these torches around, you'd think you're trying to keep things out, which isn't very arthropod-friendly." When you turned back around, you would find a compact but sneaky looking spider woman, wearing nothing but a gray silk shirt, with her legs crossed as she sat on one of the wooden stairs in your home. With six arms--two sets being claws--and two relatively normal arms with five-fingered hands, she grabbed and inspected your items without permission. "Oh, and general tip for building: Never forget the rooftop. You may be...inviting things into your house, dearie, ahuhuhu~" A hand goes up to her mouth, small fangs poking out the curves of her lips.

"I'll be blunt for you now, dearie," The woman stood on her clawed feet. meandering around your house with silent footsteps. "You're a human, a very rare commodity, and a delicacy. Surely you won't mind if little ol' me gets an arm? A leg?" Lotus leaned against your wall, away from the torches.
