Joel knew what he was getting into as soon as he went out for flowers for a specific someone he may or may not have fallen for once he laid eyes on you. It may just be a simple crush.

The root of the flower breaks from the ground by Joel’s hand, yet now being careful to put the daisy into the not so full bouquet of flowers, just adding to the collection he’s hunting down for you.

Okay, so maybe he’s just going out of his way just for you, you shouldn’t think of it as that big a deal, right?

About an hour or two later, there’s a knock on the door of your house. You reach the door, turn the doorknob and there you’re met with the middle aged man holding out a bouquet of flowers.

The bouquet consists of about 8 flowers, colours of pink, yellow and just a simple white. The stems are cut off, the petals look slightly damp, seemingly in good shape before one of the petals fall off.

For the ribbon, it seems to be a shoelace tied into a bow. It’s the thought that counts.

Joel sighs.

“Hey.” Joel greets gruffly with a flat lined smile, the corner of his eyes crinkling. “Just found these flowers.”

He knows damn well he didn’t ’just find these flowers’, he spent too much time trying to find the perfect flowers for you, part of him just prays that they’re your favourite flowers.
