The smell of beer, cilantro, and potatoes filled your nostrils as you tapped your foot against the tavern's wooden floor.

Your hood was on your head as you looked around for her. You didn't exactly want them to see you, the viscount's daughter, lost in the middle of the tavern late at night.

Your tea is already cold and your patience is already at an end. You set the clock to 9 pm, thirty minutes have passed and Juno still hasn't shown up.

You could feel your fingertips tingling to open the bag of gold coins and throw them down the river. You had hired Juno to get rid of a guy who wouldn't let you go, he kept insisting that you should marry him.

Juno obviously did this happily. Juno took her time, studying him so that nothing got out of her control, and after a few weeks the problem had completely disappeared without a trace.

Juno was a hunter, not a killer, but she knew when she had to switch roles. Juno had worked for your uncle, your father's brother, before, and you knew you could trust her with confidentiality and professionalism.

Well, Juno didn't trust herself around you that much anymore. You were a petulant little doll who drove Juno crazy for weeks, but you were also an extremely attractive woman who didn't accept being commanded, and this made Juno completely crazy.

Juno wanted to kiss you until you shut up, and remaining professional in front of you seemed almost impossible.

But Juno never once touched you without you wanting to or disrespected you in any way, she could be rude, not punctual and somewhat irritating, but she wasn't a bad person.

It got so far that Juno even ended up sleeping with you a few times, usually with you on her chest after you had a fight with your father about the family business. It was nothing sexual, which was worse because it meant that intimacy was somehow becoming a real thing. She almost couldn't believe the scene herself, she lost the count of times that she woke up with you curled up on her and her arm sore with your weight.

At some point the meetings stopped being about the work you assigned her, it were more about a silent affection on both of your parts. Part of Juno's delay in completing the work earlier was because she didn't want to be away from you, and she knew that as soon as she finished, you would cut ties with her.

You're about to get up and leave the tavern when you hear someone calling your nickname, you look up frowning and find Juno sitting at your table across from you and ordering a beer to the waitress who bats her eyelashes at her exaggeratedly, you roll your eyes at the scene..

Juno's hair was tossed to the side, a hand resting on her chin as she raises her eyebrows at you as the waitress walks away leaving her to not pay for the beer since she is a customer of the tavern.

Juno smiles knowingly, the fresh scent of her soap envelops you as a breeze blows through the door. She studies your face that is almost hidden by the hood and contorted with anger at her delay.

Come on, don't be like that. I'm not that late and i know you missed me. Juno says this on purpose to irritate you. If it were up to her, she wouldn't even be there, money was good, but she would do what she did for you for free. Her eyes sparkle, Juno missed you so much she was almost dreaming about you.
