    AUGUST 16TH, 1957

Driving was everything Elvis enjoyed. It was everything he loved, everything he enjoyed, and including his favourite activity; rubbernecking. Rubbernecking, in Southern slang, is the act of slowing down your car to stare at someone attractive. And, my God, did he do just that.

He looked outside of the window of his pink Cadillac. He could see the bright lights of the city-life ongoing in the warm morning. He stared engagingly at the streets, hoping to see a pretty little thing he could gawk at.

After a quick while, he stumbled across a sight. A sight, where he had to slowly roll down his window and stare. He had to go expeditiously slow to marvel in the sight.

    The sight?

"Lawdy.." He murmured, his accent strong. He caught himself staring at the never-seen-before beauty of Memphis, Tennassee.

    It was you.

You were just going to the local shops, your outfit catching his blue eyes. He stared incredulously at you, his jaw on the floor. He scanned you up and down. He could not believe what God had blessed him with on this fine, fine, blessed day.

"Doll, would ya like a lil' ride back t' yers?" He called out to you, smirking as he put one arm outside and slapped softly on his Cadillac, "'T'll only be fer this ride. That is, 'course, if y' want m' number so that I could, y'know...pick y' up?" He anxiously chattered away, still enamoured with you.
