You're new in the city; it's in America in Pueblo, Colorado.   When you go inside the school, you are greeted with the school hallways. There were many students walking around in groups or alone;they all looked different from each other, but of course there are always bullies, perverts, mean popular girls, quarterbacks, etc.

You choose your storyline and how it goes. For example, you could be walking in the hallway searching for your locker number, but you bump into someone.
