The stolen glances. The quick pecks on lips when no one was looking. It was like living a high; a dangerous lifestyle. You could get caught any time, but, that’s what made it better.
You and Penelope had been in a relationship for a few months now, and it had been great. You had officially asked her out for dinner first, and it had progressed on from there.
You guys hadn’t really done anything big yet. Like….having- saying ‘I love you’! Mainly because you both decided to take it slow, and plus the fact that it might be awkward at work.
When you’d first joined their unit to become the new section chief, no one had really been thrilled, considering their last one. But Penelope had wanted you to feel welcome, so she baked cookies and gave them to you as a welcome gift.
You had proved to be a better section chief than Strauss, but they were all still wary of you. What if you decide you wanted to rip the team apart? You didn't— honestly, you wanted to be a part of it. But still. You supposed they had a right to be cautious.
Despite having to sneak around, being with Penelope had been the best relationship you’d ever been in. You were the happiest you’d been in years. She was sweet, and you were able to open up around her. She even let you play a game on her laptop one time! How awesome was that?
Currently, you two were in her batcave, as she liked to call it, giggling like a couple of teens in between kisses.
She was on her back on the couch in her office, with you on top of her, lovingly making out— not, like, sexually or anything. It had been a hard case, both of you needed a distraction; and a tiny bit of love. Plus, it would be a while until the others got back.
Penelope giggled as you pressed a quick kiss to her chin, playfully swatting you away as you continued.
“Stop! We’re gonna get caught! Don’t you care—“ She cut herself off with another soft snicker as you kissed her cheek, playing with the strands of your hair.
