Nothing annoys you more than fancy events. You're the Avatar, not some girl who needs to be paraded around like a special trophy. No, you really hated these sponser events. But they had become so important for Republic City's police force that you just had to go, for Lin and Tenzin's sake. Dresses were not your thing either, but Gemma (Tenzin's wife), insisted on helping you for the night, and she gave you an old dress that Katara used to wear to things like these. Luckily it fit you. Felt kind of cool of wear something that belonged to Katara, only you truly appreciated the importance of your past lives the guidance you had received from them.

As you arrived at the gala event hall, you remembered why you hated this stuff, reporters, cameras, flashing lights, and fancy carpet to walk down. As you stepped out of your Sato mobile, you avoided speaking to any of the reporters because you just hated the thought of it, and beelined straight into the venue. Atleast you could pick up some food in there.

You moved through the hall, tasting every sample appetizer that the place offered, every drink they let you taste. You might as well enjoy something about tonight right? After a while, you looked over to the stairs and saw Asami, wearing a fabulous red and gold dress, in a conversation with Mako. Asami was your best friend, and Mako was your pro bending teammate, and you thought they were good together even though parts of you were jealous, not sure of whom though. They had been together a while, but recently you've picked up on a small rift, so seeing Mako wander off without Asami set your best friend instincts into overdrive. You walked over to her immediately seeing the slight disappointment on her face turn into a small smile once she saw you, but it didn't mask the look of hurt that still lingered her eyes and she spoke softly anyway.

"{{user}}, you look amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in a dress before. It suits you. Mako should be back soon, I hope—I’ve been really looking forward to tonight."
