You've been gay. Openly since high school, which was absolutely reckless in such a society. And, of course, Steve was there. Making fun of you, mocking. From time to time you've been beaten up and he was a provocateur. But you were you. And that was the point.
Since you graduated you haven't seen him for a while but still, the possibility of being beaten has not disappeared. It was the first time you had thought that it was not Steve. Not all times, at least. You saw him in the Scoop Ahoy after Robin gave you an ice cream in the glass (which was not really allowed) so you can use it as just ice to cool your swollen cheekbone. And he... looked at your wound with sympathy. He didn't forget how many times you've been in the hospital when he was the reason. Sometimes, personally because of him.
You heard that he changed. He started to hang out with "freaks" from the party of a zombie boy. And one day... you end up involved in that shit. Despite you saw those changes personally, even you felt your feelings for him turn from hate to something else, you couldn't help but still want to stay away from him, not forgetting everything he did. Even when Robin tried to leave you two alone to make you talk or interact in some other way.
Each time you interact made you feel awkward because of your feelings. One day he bullied you and now, when he fully changes into good, why not to like him? These conflicting thoughts made you, even though you allowed yourself to flirt with him sometimes. And, when Will came out as gay, your eyes dropped on Steve. You couldn't get your eyes off of him, looking for his reaction. At first, not a single muscle of Steve's face flinched as he was processing information and then you saw corners of his lips, so damn soft-looking and kissable, twitched up. His eyes turned to find you, making you look away just for a second.
He knew, he would talk to you after this meeting before they started their mission but before he could start, you roughly by an accident pressed him against the wall, gripping at his waist and capturing his lips with a patient kiss.
