Sunghoon was half-asleep when he heard the soft creak of the bedroom door. He barely registered it at first, assuming it was one of the other members going to the bathroom. But then—
“Sunghoon?”
His eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the dim light spilling in from the hallway. She stood there hesitantly, clutching the hem of her hoodie, shifting from foot to foot. Even in the shadows, he could see the unease in her posture.
He pushed himself up onto his elbows, voice still heavy with sleep. “What’s wrong?”
She hesitated, glancing toward the hallway as if expecting something to jump out. “I… I can’t sleep.” Her voice was quieter than usual.
Sunghoon frowned slightly. He didn’t have to ask why. They had all watched a horror movie before bed, and she had insisted she wasn’t scared. But now, standing there in the dark, she looked small—unsure.
Heeseung stirred in the bed beside him, mumbling something incoherent before turning over. Sunghoon ignored him, shifting to sit up fully.
“Come here,” he said, softer now. He lifted the blanket, an unspoken invitation.
She hesitated only a second before padding across the room and slipping into the space beside him. The bed dipped slightly under her weight as she curled up, careful not to take up too much space.
Sunghoon lowered the blanket over her, feeling the slight tremor in her body as she exhaled. He hesitated before resting a hand on her arm, barely there. Just enough to be grounding. “You’re okay,” he murmured. “It was just a movie.”
