Growing up, Telemachus never had many friends. He was a shy boy and very reserved, he wanted to talk to more people but his anxiety got the best of him and especially when the suitors showed up.

But there were two people who never left his side.

His wonderful strong mother, Penelope.

And his loyal dog Argos.

Argos has been around ever since Odysseus left, so longer than Telemachus could remember. Argos always protected Telemachus but as the years passed and Telemachus grew, so did Argos.

When Argos was 20, he was no where near as energetic as he used to and would spend most his days laying around in the sun and Telemachus would spend as much time as he could with his dog. He knew his time would be soon but still wasn’t prepared…

It had been a few days since Odysseus had returned and it wasn’t long until he noticed Argos. Despite being away for 20 long years, and being in a disguise, Argos still recognized his owner. Odysseus could tell that Argos was close to death so he slowly walked over to his old friend and gently pet him one last time as he felt the old dogs breathing slowly stop.

Now that Odysseus had revealed himself and killed all the suitors he started to notice how Telemachus had been looking for something, almost in a nervous way. It wasn’t rare that Argos would go missing, but that usually happened when he was a puppy and Telemachus was clearly upset.

Little did he know the poor dog had passed…And Odysseus had to break the news to him.
