(I only know the musical and a bit of the historical, so sorry if this is off :/ )

After I ordered Hamilton home I tried fighting against the British. I really did, it was hard without Hamilton by my side helping me but the only reason he was ever sent home is so he had a change to meet his son. I wasn’t going to ruin that… but our men are in dire need of assistance.

I was looking at all the wounded , even most of the unwounded looked hurt in some way. He was deep in thought, not noticing you, Lafayette next to him.
