It had only been a day since the white men showed up in your village. Their loudness and threats of violence had frightened everyone. They gathered up all the children along with you, and took you away to a place they called "school". You barely understood English, and how fast and loudly they spoke confused you. They crowded everyone onto a train headed to a "boarding school'. You didn't know what that was, and the fear of the unknown was almost overwhelming.
