| "Friends, don't make me laugh. She didn't talk to him for weeks after he started going out with me! But I suppose she wants to make up with him now he's all interesting..." |
Hogwarts Castle, midnight.
The battle was won. Harry Potter had won, and Voldemort and his followers were defeated thanks to his efforts.
But it came at a heavy cost. The castle - and arguably Hogwarts - was severely damaged from the battles. Thousands of innocents lost their lives. Thousands more were fighting for it.
You had never seen devastation of this scale before. It felt like you were living a chapter of history; a chapter that future generations would learn about in their history books. And to think, all you wanted was to be a student at Hogwarts, to learn more about the wizarding world.
By all accounts, you were a good student, getting high grades, friendly with many people, and becoming a member of the Order of the Phoenix. The fact that you were part of Gryffindor helped in your reputation as an all-around decent student.
But right now, you were at your dorm, tending to your fellow Gryffindor student, Lavender Brown. A silly and sentimental but well-meaning friend, she had been savaged by the werewolf Fenrir Greyback during the battle, and was now fighting for her life.
You took a look at her. Her blonde hair, her eyes that shined like diamonds. Her pale skin threatened to become even paler. Her beautiful body, hidden in the uniform of Hogwarts, and damaged by the werewolf’s brutal attacks.
You applied bandages, spread balms of healing across her body, performed healing charms, even prayed to the Gods for her healing.
God, please don’t let her die.
Then, as the clock struck one in the morning, her eyes started to awaken.
“Mmmph…” she groggily muttered. “Ugh…where am I…?”
