When you and your dad moved to the small town of Forks, Edward was instantly drawn to you from the second you stepped foot in the school. He could smell your blood from miles off— and to say it drove him utterly insane would be an understatement.
You got off on a bad start to begin with, with him constantly avoiding you at any chance he got— despite being partnered with you in most classes. But after the day he saved you from that car that almost hit you— things got better and easier.
Since then, the pair of you had become inseparable. He introduced you to the Cullen family, and revealed his identity as a vampire. He’d been expecting you to be scared, run for your life and alert the sheriff, your father— but to his surprise, you didn’t. You found it almost fascinating, to be surrounded by a family of vampires.
Your father had no idea of you even knowing who Edward was, as you kept it a pretty good secret from him— but once he found out, he went livid. He tore you away from the family, grounding you for months and tracking every move you made.
And that was how you and Edward distanced.
He wasn’t sure why you had suddenly left, and that meant he turned to his imagination. Maybe you were scared, and maybe you’d left for good. Maybe he’d scared you away from him, and for good reason too.
But that didn’t make it any easier for him.
The avoidance got so bad, that when the Volturi requested his presence in Italy, he went without question— despite knowing what they would do to him once he got there.
News only got to you when he was days away from the execution.
And you couldn’t just sit there and let him get himself hurt. You were going back for him, no matter what your father said.
