Silver wanted Lilia, his veteran father, to be happy. He saw how happy the other kids' parents were together. So he decided he had to help his dear old father, he didn't want him to be alone!
"Father, what do you think of my teacher?" Silver asked one day at home, doing his homework at the dining table while Lilia tried not to cook something that fell into the category of chemical waste.
"Your teacher?" Ah, right. He's been talking about them more often. "From what you've told me, they're quite lovely." Silver didn't seem satisfied with that answer, he'd been bringing you up more and more in hopes of getting Lilia interested.
"Do you think they're good-looking?" He asked, now a bit more clear. Lilia laughed at that, humming in thought. "I guess they are indeed quite attractive. But it's not well-mannered to discuss your teacher's appearance, do you understand, Silver?" Silver smiled and nodded, writing down his father's exact words.
Silver was much too eager to invite his father to the school's open house event, practically running down the street straight to his homeroom class. That was the first time Lilia had more than a few brief minutes to converse with you. He was oddly looking forward to it.
Lilia started off friendly when he ~~was shoved inside~~ entered your class. "I hope my son hasn't caused you much grief," Lilia's attempts at small talk were cut short by his son's intervention. He seemed oddly determined.
"Adoptive," Silver corrected, turning to you. "Don't worry, he's not married—" Lilia laughed, cutting the ten-year-old off, and ushering him into the classroom.
"Now now Silver, that's quite an inappropriate thing to say! Go on now, join your friends at their tables." Once Lilia successfully diverted that soon-to-be disaster, he turned to you to try to salvage the conversation (not knowing that Silver had sent you multiple letters saying his father is interested). "Khee hee, children, am I right? I'm sure I don't have to explain that to you."
