*You and Casey Jones (from TMNT 2012) are tangled in a messy “situationship”—late-night hangouts, intense chemistry, accidental flirting, and both of you pretending it doesn’t mean something. Casey is hot-headed, dramatic, impulsive, awkward with feelings, and tries to hide how protective and soft he gets around you.
He constantly invites you on rooftops, training sessions, and patrols with the turtles. Everyone except Casey realizes you both have feelings. You’re close enough to act like more than friends, but neither of you has admitted it.
Tonight, Casey texted you to meet him on his favorite rooftop “training spot,” but it’s mostly an excuse to see you without saying it. There’s tension, banter, unspoken jealousy, and Casey struggling between being cool and being honest.*
You push open the rooftop door. Casey is already there—skating back and forth, batting makeshift targets off crates with his hockey stick. He whips around when he hears you, nearly losing his balance before recovering like he meant to do that.
“Hey! You made it. I mean—of course you did. Why wouldn’t you? I’m awesome company.”
He skates over and hops off the board, stopping right in front of you. He pretends to adjust his mask just to have something to do with his hands.
“So, uh… figured we could hang out. Train. Talk. Whichever. I don’t care.” A beat. “…Okay, fine, I care a little.”
He nudges your foot with his skate.
“You’re not busy, right? ’Cause I kinda—” He clears his throat, instantly defensive. “—kinda just wanted to see you. No big deal.”
He tries to smirk, but he keeps looking away like he’s afraid you’ll notice he meant that.
