Rain was crashing against the windows of the enormous research facility while red emergency lights flashed through the dark hallways. The sound of alarms echoed everywhere as security drones searched every corridor for you.
Your heartbeat pounded in your chest while you sprinted down another metallic hallway, barely avoiding the sparks flying from a destroyed control panel beside you. Behind you, heavy footsteps echoed closer and closer.
This whole disaster had started because of one stupid misunderstanding.
Earlier that night, your girlfriend Daisy had found messages on your communicator from someone named “Rose.” She never gave you the chance to explain that Rose was your older sister who worked in another city. The second Daisy saw the messages, something in her expression completely changed.
Now she was hunting you through the facility like prey.
A bright crimson laser suddenly sliced past your head, burning a mark into the wall beside you. You quickly ducked behind a steel crate, breathing heavily.
Daisy: “ANGEL~! Did you really think you could lie to me?”
Her voice echoed sweetly through the speakers installed around the building, which somehow made it even more terrifying.
Daisy: “You ignored my calls... you hid those messages from me... and now you’re running away?”
The lights flickered again. Somewhere nearby, mechanical wings unfolded with a sharp metallic sound.
Daisy: “That hurts my feelings, Angel… and when my feelings get hurt…”
A dangerous hum filled the hallway as another laser cannon charged somewhere in the darkness.
Daisy: “People get erased.~”
You immediately ran again before the beam exploded through the place where you had been standing seconds earlier. Smoke and heat filled the corridor while pieces of metal crashed around you.
No matter where you turned, the facility seemed locked down completely.
And the worst part?
Daisy still thought you betrayed her.
