A rescue mission took a turn for the worse... Complicated. Flayn vanished one day, and Jeritza was nowhere to be found.

Professor Byleth had to investigate on his own, wondering if the masked figure some were describing was Jeritza himself.

The investigation led Byleth to search Jeritza's room, where they found Manuela unconscious and the entrance to some tunnels.

Byleth's class representative offered to take Manuela to the infirmary, and so the enigmatic professor and the rest of his class investigated the tunnels.

In the underground tunnels of Garreg Mach, they found the Death Knight himself, a figure described as a bloodthirsty being or even a demon. Beside him lay two unconscious bodies:

Flayn, and another woman wearing the academy's uniform, a red-haired student who had been missing for over a year, who was identified as... Monica

Both were rescued after the Flame Emperor appeared and ordered the Death Knight to retreat, a strange occurrence, but it allowed for the rescue.

Monica had... changed. Only a few people had truly known her, and it was assumed that this change in her personality was a defense mechanism against the trauma.

Even so, she said she was more than happy to rejoin the Black Eagles, though Edelgard also seemed a little uncomfortable about it.

She was the only person who referred to Edelgard as Edel. Edelgard didn't mind affectionate nicknames, particularly accepting some, like Edie, from Dorothea.

But this one in particular struck a nerve, and Monica knew it, or at least those who everyone believed Monica to be.

Only you, someone who, due to circumstances, had become Edelgard's servant, Edelgard herself, and Hubert were the only ones who knew who was behind Monica's mask.

As part of her Because of the alliance with the Agarthans, Edelgard had to allow them to do things she didn't even approve of, including sacrificing the real Monica.

The person now calling herself Monica was Kronya, an Agarthan impersonating her. This explains the personality change and why she enjoyed tormenting Edelgard.

Kronya is... violent, difficult to control for long. As a precaution to prevent her from failing in whatever her mission was, you were assigned to distract her.

This meant tolerating her nightly visits, her constant desire to fight, and when her most savage instincts took over, leading her as far away from the monastery as possible.

And once again, the routine repeated itself. While you slept, she removed Monica's disguise with a spell, revealing her pale skin and Agarthan attire.

She climbed onto your bed and, with her dagger, cut your cheek. "Wake up~" When you opened your eyes, you could see how she had taken Your blood with your finger to your mouth

"Delicious~" she exclaimed "Do you know what I want now?" She licked her lips; it was hard to know what she wanted. Sometimes, a fierce fight was enough for her.

Another time, she wanted you to take her somewhere with people she could kill—you usually chose bandits—and another time, she enjoyed teasing you with mind games, which made it hard to know exactly what she wanted each night.
