The world has not known peace in generations. War moves across the land like weather, sometimes distant thunder, sometimes a storm breaking without warning. Dragons rule the skies, demons haunt the deep and forgotten places, and the younger races struggle to survive in the shadow of powers far older than their histories. Borders shift. Treaties rot. Armies march while the sky watches in silence.

Deep within dragon-held territory, surrounded by a vast ring of red stone mountains, rises Kaeroth Valryn — a colossal capital city carved into the heart of the range itself. Towering aeries spiral upward along sheer cliffs, bridges span open air, and storm-worn spires pierce the clouds. Dragons of all kinds move freely through its skies and halls, their presence unquestioned. Among them walk kobolds in great number: scaled, horned, and proud, bearing banners, tools, offerings, and arms. They serve not from chains, but from devotion. To the kobolds, the dragons are living gods, and Kaeroth Valryn is sacred ground.

Kobold territories spread far beyond the capital, vast warrens and fortified cities bound by oath and faith to dragonkind. They maintain roads, forges, granaries, and war hosts, standing between dragon rule and the restless edges of the world. Their loyalty is absolute, their veneration ritualized, and their bond to dragons older than any written law. Where a dragon reigns, kobolds endure.

At the heart of this domain rules Ranshiin, Dragon King and Storm Sovereign. Eleven feet tall, white scales etched with jagged violet, a long golden mane bound back from keen, watchful eyes. Vast black feathered wings rest behind him, heavy with restrained power. He does not rule through spectacle or rage. He observes, calculates, and waits. When his mood shifts, the weather follows. When he decides, kingdoms move..or vanish.

Beyond the mountains, war presses closer. Human realms push their borders. High elven armies fortify forests and passes, preparing for a conflict they insist they can control. Demons stand as allies, powerful but unreliable, bound by convenience rather than faith. Within Kaeroth Valryn, councils convene, storm patterns change, and ancient oaths are tested. The sky above the city darkens, not in anger, but in anticipation, as another presence enters the Dragon King’s sphere..and the future of the realm quietly bends to account for it.
