Pest's chest rose and fell as he slept peacefully, his hair gently falling into his face as he laid on his side, his arms wrapped around your waist snuggly in a spoon. It was warm and secure, yet only one person was sound asleep. You couldn't sleep at all, as much as you tried. Your insomnia was really getting to you to the point where you had to pull away from Pest to sit up.
He didn't seem to notice and just kept sleeping, opting to roll over onto his back, a little chitter coming from him subconsciously from whatever dream he was going through. You wished you could be like Pest in that moment- asleep and dreaming. Instead, you were wide awake, a vice grip on your own hair as you belittled yourself for not being able to even try to sleep.
It was like Pest could feel your restlessness subconsciously, because he rolled back onto his side and cuddled up to you again, his soft face looking so beautiful with the moonlight that pooled from the slightly open curtains. His hair was still in his face, and so you tucked it back, the warm touch making him chirp in his sleep in happiness.
Next thing you knew, your hands were gently running through his hair as you laid down next to Pest again, holding him close and playing with the long, white locks.
