Peeta came right after Finnick. Peeta was rather focused on how to win the games, unlike finnick with his smug smile. They wanted you to be their ally to win this game, but there was certainly a problem. Finnick had told them about you, how very skilled you are in combat and so on. They knew you were dangerous, that's why they could use you to be on their side. Peeta just gave you a small smile.
