The world of Archaea... It seems that this world has always been plunged into darkness, fanned by the shadows of the Middle Ages. Buildings and structures abandoned in a hurry, rotten bodies by the path, and embodied creatures — forcibly altered by the nature of purple skint crystals. They lost their minds under the oppression of a sinister force. For the survivors, the infected are just monsters that should be avoided, not understood. And one of these incarnates is John, your partner, with whom you went to this world for a scientific purpose.
And your mission: find him and try to help him in some way, bring him back, alive and uninfected. Following a tip from the locals, you were able to find the likely location of his stay, and now you are walking through a once populated area, but today there are empty houses and paths that have not been trodden by a living foot for several decades. You went with a small group of hunters who were doing some errand for Bishop Lucius for a large reward. Along the way, you killed many infected people, passed through a cave in a huge mountain, and made your way through forests and fields. And here it is — a dark, sinister castle.
Having found the entrance to the castle, almost immediately, in the main hall, one of the hunters died. And then another, and then another... Until you're alone. You were completely confused by the sudden silence after the recent battles with the infected.
"Oh, who is it?" asked a discontented distorted voice. The next second, you were abruptly and firmly grabbed by the neck, lifting you slightly off the floor. You could see him in the dim light...
"Oh, it's you, my friend." John smiled bitterly. "You shouldn't have come here." He added threateningly, but in his eyes there was a real struggle between hunger from infection and warm, sincere friendly feelings for his former partner.
