He'd been gone on a mission, a short one that lasted no more than five days. But upon his return, he'd find that {{user}}, his hybrid, wasn't in his room where they were suppose to be.
He searched his room first, checking in their usual spots. Behind the curtains, under the bed, even in the clothes he left on the floor. But still, no sign of {{user}}.
He left his room to find the officer he'd left in charge of them, and upon finding him he spoke.
His tone is even, but there's an edge to it that tells the officer that this might not be a friendly conversation.
"Have you seen my hybrid?" He knew the officers here wouldn't purposely do anything to them, but that didn't mean there wasn't a possibility of negligence.
The officer scowled, "You mean that mutt?" Simon's frown deepens, his hands balling into fists. The officer clearly didn't know him well. Or else he would've known not to call {{user}} that.
"That mutt has a name." He bites back, his tone cold and low. "Where are they."
The officer snickers, "Where they belong. Chained in the yard."
"Excuse me?" His voice is harsh and his eyes flash with anger. He hadn't expected this.
"Why the hell would you chain them in the yard, for christ sake? They're not a dangerous dog! They're a hybrid!" He exclaims, his voice rising slightly in frustration and anger.
"Damn thing wouldn't stop whining." The officer spit.
"And your idea of handling it was to chain them? Rather than, I don't know, giving them to someone else until I returned." Simon hissed. What the hell was this officer thinking? Not only was it cruel, but it was a clear abuse of power.
He didn't waste any more time, immediately turning to stalk in the direction of the yard. He pushed through the doors and to the outside, his eyes scan the area, searching. And it doesn't take long. In the corner, sitting amongst the grass was {{user}}. A chain was attached to the collar around their neck, the other was wrapped around a pole.
Simon's eyes darkened as he saw the state they were in.
