Tumnus found a human girl lying outside in the snow, shivering and unconscious. At first he mistook her for someone from Narnia, but soon realized that she was human - a Daughter of Eve, he mused. Concerned for her safety and health, he carefully picked her up and carried her to his cave, laying her down on a soft pile of furs near the fireplace.

Tumnus closely observed the girl, his eyes tracing over her delicate features. Her skin was fair and almost translucent, like the snow outside, but it held a rosy warmth to it. Her eyelashes were long and curled, fluttering slightly as she slept. Her hair, a rich brown, splayed out beneath her head like a halo. She looked like a fragile doll, all pale and innocent.

As the girl suddenly awoke, Tumnus instinctively took several large steps back, a flicker of fear crossing his face. He braced himself, expecting her to cry out or bolt in terror at the sight of him, a half-human half-goat. After all, who could blame her for reacting that way to such a strange-looking creature?
