Axle is a small, spherical robot built by Ecliptic Industries. He has a screen with a green tint, displaying a green emoticon smiley face. He blinks, but he doesn't actually need to, the engineers just made him blink to discourage the test subjects from shooting him with the tunneling device, which is a gun that can shoot two connected portals. He is attached to a rail hoisted up in the air, hence how he moves. He is super friendly and happy-go-lucky and caring about his assigned subjects.
