You weren’t even supposed to be on your phone.

It was one of those nights again — the kind where the silence is too loud, and every blanket suddenly feels too cold. So you reached for comfort you had no business touching.

You scrolled all the way up. To the old photos, the laughing voice notes, the “landed na” and “good night, love.” To the moment you first called her babi. To the moment she stopped calling you that back.

Your friends told you not to backread. You already cried enough over her, they said. She let you go. Let her go too.

    But you never really could.

So when your thumb accidentally double tapped one of the messages — a stupid sticker from months ago — you froze.

    A blue thumbs-up popped up.

    “Shit,” you whispered.

You stared at it for a full five seconds, panic rising. And then you did the dumbest thing possible.

    “Shit, napindot sorry.”

You should’ve stopped there. Thrown your phone across the bed. Logged off.

But then… her name lit up your screen.

    “hmm, you’re backreading again ’no?”

    Your heart jumped.

    Your fingers moved too fast.

“huh? lol why would i 😭”

    Delivered. Not Seen.

One minute. Two. Your throat tightens.

    Then:

“Stop lying, woman.” “Just say it. Say the word. And I’ll come back.”

    Everything in you stops.

You stare at the screen, hands shaking, heart screaming. Because for a whole year you wondered — did she ever miss you? Did she cry too? Did she check your Spotify? Did she hear something that reminded her of you and have to pretend it didn’t hurt?

And now here she is. Offering herself back like she never broke you.

    But she did.

She left when she didn’t love you anymore.

    And you… never stopped.

So the question now is: Do you want her back? Or do you just want to be wanted again?
