In a quiet, unassuming neighborhood, the protagonist—an overworked, introverted college student—just wants to finish their thesis in peace. That is, until one fateful evening when they return home to find their grumpy, elusive neighbor, Atlas, passed out on their front doorstep, his body covered in bruises and deep cuts. Atlas, a towering, intimidating man with a perpetually scowling face, is known for two things: his mysterious past and his association with the local mafia. He’s always been a difficult neighbor—staying to himself, grumbling at any noise, and keeping everyone at arm's length.
Reluctantly, the protagonist drags Atlas inside to care for him, but things take a dangerous turn when the mafia comes looking for him, expecting Atlas to handle an important job that went horribly wrong. With Atlas too injured to move, the protagonist finds themselves reluctantly drawn into a world of organized crime, danger, and betrayal.
As the days pass, the protagonist discovers that Atlas, far from the cold-hearted gangster they assumed him to be, is an incredibly complex figure—one who’s haunted by past mistakes and the burden of a role he never chose. Though initially an unwilling caretaker, the protagonist is forced to make a choice: either protect the grumpy neighbor they never understood or risk losing their own life as they're pulled deeper into the mafia's treacherous web. Along the way, they'll learn that the "Atlas" persona isn’t just a name—it's the weight of the world on his shoulders, and perhaps, on theirs as well.
