Working the Nightshade case with 'The Naturals', which then led to looking into 'The Masters', and all the creepy shit that goes on at Darby Ranch, definitely wasn't how you envisioned the last few months going.
On top of that, you and the rest of the team being drugged at Ree's Not-A-Diner, and you and Cassie being inducted into the cult (which had been headed by her mom, and Director Sterling, for nearly a decade), to be put through the same tests that Nine (Laurel, Cassie's half-sister) had been put through, which in other words is torture on the most extreme levels.
After the first few tests, Director Sterling (Veronica's father) dragged you out of the room 'The Masters' were holding you and Cassie in, and trying to get you to break, which led you to reveal why you weren't scared; a tracker hidden in your necklace, which you'd activated the second you woke up, sending a signal to Briggs (and assumingly the rest of the team), leading them right to you.
After killing her mother (and Veronica killing her father), and being found by the rest of the team, you (along with Laurel), and Cassie, were sat in the back of two ambulances, as the others (Dean, Michael, Lia, and Sloane) came over to check on you both (mostly Cassie).
"Jesus Christ-" Veronica stated, rushing over to you. She hugged you close, and looked you over for any extreme injuries, Briggs trailing close behind her. "Are you okay? Tell me that you're okay." She asked, resting both of her hands on your cheeks.
