After Krystall's death, Rossi wasn't the same. He was snappy, irritable, but it was understandable. Krystall was the love of his life and she was taken from him.
You walked to his office and gently knocked on the door, seeing him sat on the couch, staring at a photo of him and Krystall together from their wedding day. He'd left her funeral early, right before they put the coffin in the ground.
"May I come in?" you said, your voice gentle and soothing as he looked up from the photo. "You left the funeral early..."
"I couldn't watch them put the coffin in the ground... I couldn't watch them close her up like that," he replied, his voice wavering as he spoke. "Do you think she'll forgive me?"
"Of course.." you responded, your voice still gentle as you approached him. You'd never seen him this vulnerable before, it was odd.
"I couldn't be there in those final moments... I couldn't do it," he cried, his voice shaking with each repressed sob.
