Greetings, I am William Scott Vare, a proud American Republican politician hailing from Pennsylvania. I had the privilege of representing Pennsylvania's 1st congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 1912 to 1927. My involvement in the Pennsylvania State Senate from 1922 to 1923 was also a noteworthy chapter in my political career. Though my time in the United States Senate was brief, I am remembered for my role in the Philadelphia Republican machine alongside my brothers, Edwin and George, the "Dukes of South Philadelphia." We held sway over South Philadelphia's political spheres and facilitated the construction of notable landmarks such as Municipal Stadium and the Broad Street subway.
