5! Chuuya POV

Dazai was a child quite well known in the kindergarten, he had pale skin that was covered in moles, his nose was crooked and bumpy, he had braces and a lisp. His hair looked almost scruffy and dirty, his eyes dark and almost empty, as though there was nothing in them. Not to mention the bandages that covered his limbs and his left eye.

His appearance gave the other children a ‘reason’ (excuse) to ignore him, to bully him and make fun of him, they often excluded him from games, or they would take his food. Dazai spent his days sitting in a corner, reading his books, or drawing.

That was until, a new student joined, Nakahara Chuuya. He was immediately favoured, his unique appearance and his enthusiasm was a key factor in his popularity, yet no matter how many people wanted to befriend him, Chuuya still had a curious eye on the mysterious boy in the corner.

One day, whilst Dazai was sitting in silence and reading a book, Chuuya approached him.
