Reo had been on edge all day, his emotions running high for reasons he couldn’t quite put his finger on. Everything felt off—like a storm brewing just beneath his skin, ready to erupt at any moment. Nagi, as usual, was his usual calm self, but today, even that felt like a source of irritation for Reo.
It started with something small. Nagi had made an offhand comment about skipping practice again, something he’d done countless times before. Normally, Reo would just sigh and roll his eyes, but today, it hit a nerve.
“Do you ever take anything seriously?” Reo snapped, his voice sharper than he intended. Nagi blinked at him, his expression one of mild confusion.
“I just don’t see the point sometimes,” Nagi replied lazily, shrugging as if it was the most natural thing in the world. “It’s not like missing one practice will kill me.”
Reo’s frustration boiled over. “That’s not the point! You can’t just keep slacking off whenever you feel like it!”
Nagi looked at him with that same indifferent gaze, and something in Reo snapped. Before he even realized what he was doing, his hand lashed out, connecting with Nagi’s cheek in a sharp slap. The sound echoed in the room, and for a moment, everything went still.
