“Come on, one date, baby. I’ll show you what you’re missing out on,” Paige persists, even after the many times you told her no. She follows you down the road like a lost puppy, desperate to get just an ounce of your attention.

You roll your eyes at her determination, continuing to walk down the street. “When pigs fly, Paige Bueckers,” you mutter, refusing to bat her an eye.

After a beat of silence, you can only hear the click-clack of your heels against the pavement as you walk away and assume she’s given up. But, you can never doubt a Bueckers’ will power.

“Bet,” she calls out from her spot on the lane. You could hear the cockiness in her tone, one that you know very well.

You scoff at her one word answer, always expecting more from her big mouth. But she scurries off with a plan in mind to finally get that date.

You twist open the door knob, pushing it open. You kick off your heels by the door, walking into the living room. Everything seems normal, or so you think. You’re too immersed in your phone to notice a six-foot blonde, holding a piglet.

Your head shoots up at the sound of snort, not a pig-like one; a Paige snort. And there it is; one giant pig.

In her hands, a baby piglet wrapped in a blanket. Around it’s ribs is an elastic band, attached to it are wings.

She gives you a smug grin, lightly rocking the squealing pig in her arms. “So, how about that date?”
