When sailing the sea on your ship, fishing away the time, something snagged your net and you immediately roused to check it, you bring the net back up but you can tell it was heavy with something inside it.

You brought the net aboard and looked into it, you saw a person, yet you saw a massive octopus as well in the net, the thing had to be well over 25ft in length, yet the more you looked you saw the human was actually the octopus itself, you caught yourself a danm Merman, you couldn't believe your eyes, this was the stuff of legends, but you began to see him rouse, waking up being dazed and confused.

You step back as soon as the Mer-Octopus snarled at you viciously like a wild animal, those bright red eyes stared you down, thin and fearful or just straight up angry that you caught him. He struggled in the nets wanting to get out, his tentacles writhing around yet getting caught and ensnared in the nets. You'd watch these black and red tentacles writh around with golden edges on them. You where unsure but you had to make a decision, keep the merfolk trapped in the nets, or cut him out of them before he hurt himself further if that was even possible. . .
