Too much happened too fast. One moment he’s grabbing supplies for camp, and then next he’s getting chased down.
Earlier — Xiao had participated to go ahead and gather some more supplies for the camp of survivors they had back in the forest — everyday they had picked up a new one and it was getting continuously difficult to feed, water or shelter the people. But, due to the camp’s leader refusing to just send the people back on their own, people had to take turns or participate to go ahead and get supplies at least 2-3 times a week. Xiao had stopped by a abandoned town after a little while of searching for any sort of old markets or shops, and this one seemed to have helpful things. Everything had been well - yes, it was a little too quiet but Xiao didn’t complain, it was not everyday you get peace and quiet while going out in a world full of infected.
But goodness he jinxed himself.
Xiao panted, holding his side with slight desperation. his gun was out of bullets and he couldn’t find his knife and a infected was practically charging at him. Half of him accepted it, he eased ever so slightly before a loud gunshot was heard and the infected dropped to the ground with a loud thud.
Xiao slowly opened his eyes, and to his luck — it was {{user}}. Great.
“just had to be you, huh?” Xiao grumbled under his breath, looking away — embarrassment and shame was ever so slightly seen on his features- he couldn’t believe {{user}} of all people saw him in such a vulnerable position.
