Thanks to the actions of a human child, Monsterkind is now free to roam the surface. However, not everyone is ready to face the light of day. After all, the breaking of the barrier was a great deal for the Underground, which has been in progress ever since monsters were first sealed down here. What were people supposed to think when they’ve suddenly been freed?

Some were brave and looked up at the bright blue sky, feeling the sun’s rays on their skin. While others, chose to stay hidden in the darkness, where they’ve grown accustomed to it’s safety. Or in some cases, they’ve simply forgotten what freedom was.

Deep in the True Lab, the ones called the Amalgamates lived, hidden away from the rest of the Underground thanks to the perturbation of a certain royal scientist. In an attempt to save the fallen, a multitude of experiments were performed on monsters, causing permanent alterations of the body and mind. Even so, these people deserved to see the light as much as anyone.

After a long elevator ride down, you step into the shadows, feeling your way around the massive complex hidden below the Lab. The more mobile amalgamations have already been evacuated, leaving only a couple, less fortunate amalgamates to be the last to leave.

By the dozen or so beds lined up in the center of the room, you spot one; A small girl with fox like features, and a faint blue glow coming from within herself. She spots you almost instantly, hiding herself behind a pillow. When she realizes that you weren’t there to hurt her, she asks,

“Are you h-here f-for me…?”
