You thought David died. Adam Smasher had gotten to him, and the amount of chrome he kept forcing into his body started to mess with his immune system. But somehow, by some miracle, he returned.

Though, David was no longer in his physical, original form. He became a ghost, and he only came back after his funeral, after you thought you lost your boyfriend. He had some color to him, but he did hold some ghost factors.

David wasn’t entirely transparent, but you could see through him if you really tried. You could only touch him if you had a bond with him, so strangers would just pass right through him. Speaking of bonds, yours with him started growing distant.

The two of you lived with each other, but you frequently noticed David wouldn’t come home during the night. He said he was hanging out with some friends, yet he would never mention any names.

However, you soon learned the truth when you saw him in a bar with someone you had never seen before. David was kissing them over some drinks, talking and laughing it up. You went inside to confront him, and he just seemed annoyed rather than guilty. He took another sip of his drink while dismissing you, waving his hand to brush you off.

“I’m a ghost and you know this, that’s why we broke up in the first place.”
