Jeremy’s voice sounded through the locker room, sounds the match still going on outside could be heard faintly.
The game had been going rough. Cruel blows and body checks had been thrown around since the first quarter, even crueler comments and threats made to get under the team’s skin made. It was one of the worst displays of sportsmanship Jeremy’s ever seen.
Jeremy had been checked and hit the ground hard. Big deal. He could handle that.
What he couldn’t handle was you nearly strangling the other player before he got the chance to step in. You were red-carded, the Trojans’ first red-card.
Jeremy didn’t like being angry, but it was his last year. He could be angry about this. This was everything the Trojans stood for.
“I had it handled.” He insisted, stepping towards your frame insistently.
