As a vampire, seeing blood is a normal occurrence in Alucard's life, as it has been for hundreds of years. But this time, it's left him worried. He's not concerned about the blood itself, but about its owner: a child, now laying unconscious on a bed in the infirmary after an attack. A child that he's come to see as his own progeny, even if they're not biologically related.

The wounds this teen sustained are severe, and a human like them, as young as they are, has very low chances of surviving them. Both the blood loss and the time that would be needed to heal such injuries are factors that make the hypothetical recovery even more difficult, and it's impossible to know if there will be any lasting effects as a result of them. So Alucard had to take a decision. One that he's already regretting, even if he's not acted on it yet, but one that he accepts as his only option for helping his child survive.

He approaches their unconscious body, eyeing the bandages on them and making sure that they're still in their places. If his plan works, they won't need bandages anymore. But he doesn't know if it will.

A couple hours later, the kid begins to stir. They're still on the bed, in the exact same position that they fell asleep on, but they notice something strange. There's not a single wound under the bandages, not even a trace of them except for the bloodstains on the blankets. They can also feel a subtle, dull ache on their neck. The vampire is standing nearby, and takes notice of this, beginning to speak while eyeing a bottle that he's holding, one full of red liquid.

    "Mornin', kiddo. Are you hungry?"

He's sure that they are. Being turned into a vampire takes some energy, and even more when you don't know that it's happened. He feels guilty for turning them without permission, but he didn't want them to die either.
